What is a moisture meter?
A moisture meter is an inspection device which is used to detect moisture content in various materials.
Our moisture meter has pin probes and pinless sensors for different circumstances. A pinless sensor helps in testing large areas rapidly and determine if further testing is required in certain suspicious spots.
The pins help define moisture levels in mentioned above suspicious places. The moisture content (%MC) is measured at the depth of the head of the contact pins.
How does our moisture meter help to the inspector during an inspection?
An inspector uses a moisture meter to locate moisture that would not otherwise be apparent; and defines whether a material has a potential for mold and fungi growth, i.e. if a moister level enough to make it possible mold and fungi to develop. Under certain conditions mold and fungi may starts to grow on surfaces with approximately 20% moisture.
Due to this device is designed to measure the moisture content of various building materials, our inspector may use it during inspections of roofing, siding, insulation, drywall, plaster, wood, tile and fiberglass, as well as for survey of structural and safety hazards, such as mold, rot and decay are all potential consequences of elevated moisture levels in these materials.

Is thermal imaging technology safe?
Yes, the technology is absolutely safe for property, people and pets! Using the pinless sensor our inspector carries out completely non-destructive tests on all materials of a property. Pin sensors are two tiny needles which slightly penetrate into surface of materials without any damage.
