A combustible gas detector is a gas leak locating tool that is used to identify the presence of concentration of various gases, mostly natural, such as methane, propane, butane, ammonia and others. This equipment also indicates relative gas concentrations.

Therefore, during inspections, the inspector always checks for gas leaks accessible connections of furnaces, gas fireplaces, boilers and hot water heaters, flex lines, cut off valves and appliance of main valves.
